Existing dental practice in Glenwood Springs is expanding and looking for either a full-time or part-time dental hygienist to join our expansion in our new location. New, state-of-the-art facility will provide a motivated individual to advance their career with modern dental technology. Skills/ Abilities
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and hospitality through exceptional chair-side manner, focus on educating patients about the oral-systemic link, time management, and adhering to HIPAA compliance.
- Provide patient care based on the most current guidelines provided by the American Academy of Periodontology, ADA, and ADHA guidelines - specifically related to periodontal disease, radiographs, standard of care.
- Follow OSHA & Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines on PPE and use universal precautions.
- Be comfortable with thoroughly and efficiently performing clinical hygiene functions including, but not limited to, as applicable by practice and/or state law:
- Review/update medical history at every visit and record patient blood pressure, ensure all appropriate consent forms are signed prior to treatment.
- Expose and evaluate diagnostic radiographs, intraoral photos.
- Complete a full 6-point periodontal assessment for every patient at every visit.
- Co-assess treatment with the doctor and educate each patient on treatment needs and provide the patient with necessary referrals.
- Perform routine dental prophylaxis for periodontally healthy patients.
- Perform Non-surgical periodontal therapy (scaling/root planing) and provide associated adjunctive therapy including antimicrobials, antibiotics, and/or laser on periodontally compromised patients (as allowable by the state Board of Dentistry and certification).
- Administer local anesthesia, monitor/provide Nitrous Oxide (as allowable by the state Board of Dentistry and certification).
- Screen for Oral Cancer.
- Identify caries risk level for patients and offer fluoride/sealants, as clinically indicated.
- Maintain and complete accurate progress notes by the end of the day.
- Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare the operatory per OSHA guidelines.
- Assist other team members, including business administrative responsibilities.
Education/Certification(s)
- Active State Dental Hygiene Licensure
- Active Local Anesthesia/ Laser/ Nitrous Oxide - as allowable by the State Board of Dentistry
- Active CPR-BLS Certification
